Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said he is taking steps to enable companies to pay taxes with cryptocurrencies. Signing the Financial Literacy Curriculum Act today, DeSantis said he has directed institutions to prepare for crypto taxation. “We’re working on it, and I’ve told state agencies that if a business wants to pay Florida taxes in cryptocurrency, we should be willing to accept it,” he said. DeSantis specifically said that Florida is working to accept bitcoin as a taxpayer. He also mentioned a provision he pushed in his recent budget proposal that would allocate funds to experiment with the use of blockchain to optimize state functions.
Cryptocurrencies are now widely used in many countries and regions. And many governments have promulgated relevant regulatory laws. Therefore, there will also be a more complete system for the taxation of cryptocurrencies.
